Inaugurational flight of Aer Lingus, on new route Dublin – Pula.

The first Aer Lingus flight to  Pula, as expected by our traditions, was solemnly accomplished.
After the water salute, 132 incoming passengers  were welcomed by the Minister of Tourism , Mr. Darko Lorencin , the Ambassador of Ireland H.E. Kieran Dowling ,the director of the Tourist Board of Istria Mr. Denis Ivošević , Pula Deputy Mayor Mrs. Elena Puh Belci , and the host , Pula Airport director Mr. Svemir Radmilo .
The honour of the ceremonial ribbon cutting and the opening of the new flight , went to Mr. Darko Lorencin with the help of Captain Richard Persse . The passengers entering the terminal were excorted by  pretty and festive majorettes .
Along with  welcome drinks , passengers were served  traditional Istrian cakes and pastry in the main hall of the passenger terminal , and the dance group Irish Maiden  pleasantly surprised  our guests from Ireland .

The opening ceremony of the new market , ended with a joint performance of dancers and passengers dancing  the  traditional Irish wedding dance .
