It is forbidden by law to carry any dangerous items both in the checked and hand baggage. Such items include: explosives, flammable liquids, radioactive materials and poisons, loaded firearms, pressurized gases and other articles such as anti-corrosive and anti-oxidizing products.

Prohibited items in the hand and hold baggage:
For safety reasons, there are a number of items that cannot be taken on to any aircraft, so please do not pack them in any baggage (hand or hold):

  • Flammable liquids and solids
  • Oxidisers such as bleaching powders
  • Organic peroxides
  • Tear gas devices or any gas cylinders
  • Infectious substances such as live virus materials
  • Wet-cell car batteries
  • Magnetrons
  • Instruments containing mercury
  • Instruments containing magnets
  • Fireworks
  • Non-safety matches
  • Firelighters, lighter fuel, paints, thinners
  • Poisons, arsenic, cyanide, weedkiller
  • Radioactive materials, acids, corrosives, alkalis, caustic soda
  • Creosote, quicklime, oiled paper
  • Vehicle fuel system components which have contained fuel

The airline will supply information on conditions for carrying arms and ammunition on the passenger’s request, as well as a complete list of forbidden articles.

Prohibited items in hand baggage:

  • Scissors (except where both blades are round-ended or less than 3cm).
  • Razor blades (razors that have the blade set into a plastic moulding are allowed, but razors that can be opened and the razor blade removedare prohibited).
  • Knives with blades of any length.
  • Household cutlery (large spoons/tablespoons are NOT permitted; however small teaspoons are allowed).
  • Hypodermic needles (unless required for medical reasons, for which proof will be required).
  • Tools (including multi-tools and penknives).
  • Catapults.
  • Corkscrews.
  • Walking/hiking poles.
  • Toy/replica guns (metal or plastic).
  • Sporting bats.
  • Darts.
  • Billiard, snooker or pool cues.

However, these items ARE ALLOWED to be packed in the hold baggage, so please pack it like that.Travelling with liquids – 100ml rule

Only limited quantities of liquids may be carried through security control as hand baggage. Liquids can be carried as hand baggage if singularly packages does not exceed the 100ml or 100g and if they are packed in a transparent, plastic bag with a zipper.Maximum capacity (volume) of the bag is 1 liter. These items are required to be properly packed and closed (as shown in picture below).

Liquids include: gels, pastes, mixed liquids and solids, bottled drinks, suntan lotion, fragrances, cosmetics and toiletries, pressurized bottles (as hair gels, drinks, sirups, parfumes, deodorants and etc.)

Passengers still can:
– take liquids on board on the aircraft if the liquids are packed in the hold baggage.
take liquids in quantities more than 100ml in the hand baggage if this is baby food or milk. However, you should only carry what you need for the flight, and you may be asked to taste these items at security control.
– take liquids in quantities more than 100ml in the hand baggage if this are medicines. However, you may be asked to taste any liquid medicines, or to provide evidence (such as a doctor’s letter) that you need them for your journey.

If they are flying directly (no transfer) from an airport within Croatia to an airport within the EU, take liquids (drinks, parfumes…) bought in airport duty free shops located after the security control

If they are flying directly or not (with transfer) from an airport within teh EU to an airport within Croatia, take liquids (drinks, parfumes…) bought in airport duty free shops located after the security control. These liquids have to be packed in a transparent plastic bag with the marked date and place of purchase.
