Pula Airport proudly announces that starting next summer season, airline Jet2.com is introducing direct flights on the Pula – Edinburgh route. This is also the sixth destination for this British airline from Pula.

The new route begins operations on May 2, 2027, and will fly once a week, every Sunday, through October 17, 2027. Airline tickets for the new route are already on sale.

Alongside the newly announced Edinburgh destination, passengers flying with Jet2.com will continue to have access to existing direct flights to London (Gatwick and Stansted), Manchester, Birmingham, and East Midlands.

Strengthening cooperation and opening the Scottish market

On the occasion of the new route announcement, the General Manager of Pula Airport, Marko Ražem, stated: “Following the successful launch of two new routes with Jet2holidays in 2026, we are extremely pleased to see continued growth and excellent cooperation. Istria has long proven to be a premier destination for visitors from England, and now, with great pleasure, we open our doors and look forward to a fantastic response from our dear guests from Scotland.”

The introduction of this route continues the successful partnership with Jet2.com and further strengthens Istria’s connectivity with the United Kingdom and Scottish markets for the upcoming 2027 tourist season.

As part of the project carried out by Hrvatski Telekom with co-financing from the European Union, private 5G networks will be built at Zagreb, Zadar, and Pula airports, laying the foundation for further digitalization and the application of advanced technologies.

Perimeter surveillance cameras and sensors

At Pula Airport, the project includes the implementation of UHD camera systems and sensors for perimeter surveillance, along with industrial tablets and artificial intelligence-based software for runway inspection.

Direction: Modernization

“This is an important step forward in the digitalization of Croatian air traffic, and we are glad to participate in it together with our partners. The implementation of a private 5G network and advanced surveillance systems is an important step in the modernization of Pula Airport. The new technology will enable us to monitor airport infrastructure more efficiently, achieve a higher level of security, and execute operational tasks faster. Developing a smart airport is the direction we are striving toward, with the goal of continuously improving working conditions for our employees and service quality for our passengers,” emphasizes Marko Ražem, Director of Pula Airport.

In addition to Hrvatski Telekom and the other airports, the project is being carried out in cooperation with the company Markoja and the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences at the University of Zagreb, whose expertise contributes to the development and implementation of advanced technological solutions.
